PRESS RELEASE DISTRIBUTION: All BSA Councils and District Executives,
Commissioners, unit leaders. Please forward to any youth & church
groups. TENTS - LOTS OF TENTS!! 6,000 TENTS The Tent Guy-Greg Bassé
has a large shipment of slightly used tents coming in and is in need
of Scout help. In the past few years, Greg has distributed about 1500
tents each year for a total of over 4,500. This year, Greg will be
receiving 6,000 tents all at one time and needs the help of Scouts and
Troops to unload, sort and distribute the tents in one day. Unlike in
the past, on Sunday, October 30, 2005, the tents will be distributed
to anyone that wants a tent. No Limit. All youth groups, Boy Scouts
Troops, Cub Scout Packs, Girl Scouts, YMCA, Boy & Girls Clubs, Kiwanis
and anyone else can pick up as many tents as they want. Here is the
deal. All Boy Scouts or Adult, with or without a troop, which help
with processing the tents will receive one tent (First Pick) for their
personal use. Troops that participate will receive as many tents as
they need or want (Second Pick). Everyone else can pick up as many
tents as they need, want and/or can carry. This is a one day event.
Any tents not distributed on that day will be discarded in a trash bin
and hauled away. There will not be any early distribution and we will
not be able to save any for someone to pick up later. This is
absolutely a one day event. Besides scout help, we will need a flat
bed truck and a fork lift. The tent will be coming on at a warehouse
in Valencia but we need to relocate the tents to another warehouse a
couple of blocks away for distribution. Schedule Date: Sunday, October
30, 2005 Time: 7:00 am - 11:00 am Processing 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Distribution - Everyone The distribution location has not yet been
confirmed. Anyone responding by email will receive information updates
