The ad for a part-time position at the Antelope Valley office was
inadvertently left off this week's issue of ETrails. Below is the

 ANTELOPE VALLEY DISTRICT Part Time Position Available Job
Description: Specialized Youth Program Training Chair Pay: $10 per
hour, maximum 20 hour week Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years
of age Job Requirement: Transportation required. Some training
provided. Basic Scouting knowledge would be helpful. Using basic
scouting knowledge, he or she will schedule bimonthly visits at the
Challenger Youth Detention Center, 5300 West Avenue I in Lancaster.
They currently have nine established troops on-site, which participate
in courses ranging from Basic First Aid to History of the Flag and
Patriotism. A series of ten courses rotate with time among the nine
troops. Scheduling will be arranged through selected leaders on site.
Takes two days to cover the nine troops. He or she will visit local
high schools where Venturing units are established. Provide
motivational addresses to Venturing Crews on at least a monthly basis.
Times and days are arranged through established leaders in these
programs. These units are basically clubs where short visits are
effective. Assist Michael LoPicollo through the Antelope Valley Union
High School District in promoting and taking groups through the
Venturing Center at Highland High School. This course is designed to
develop confidence and leadership using physical and mental skill
activities at the Center located at Highland High School. Additional
training may be required for this activity which will be given at no
cost to the applicant. The time involved on a daily basis is dependent
on the number of scheduled units participating in a given week.
