We can go through Bakersfield and Highway 178 from the west through the windy river gorge or approach from the East north of Mojave on Highway 14. Each route only varies by a few miles. The eastern route takes an extra 15 minutes per map quest. Any opinions? The eastern route may be better for Tony and the trailer. The Bakersfield route would be pretty slow going up the mountain road with a trailer.
