[Camporee] RE: 2005 Camporee Meeting and Brainstorming session for 2006

Can't make it, but congratulations on a successful camporee.

 

Please no more wampum next year.  I feel strongly that this was not a good
addition to camporee.  Many people, including all my Pack's adult leaders,
and certainly our Webelos, felt that it was unfairly distributed.  I agree.
My Webelos did a great job and even if they had combined all their wampum,
they couldn't have won even one bid!  They were dismayed.  Somebody was
gaming the system - smart scouts, so very predictable.  And even if it had
been fair, it turned our meetings and campfires into a bazaar.  The time
spent soliciting bids was a huge, boring waste of time, and got away from
fellowship and boy-led skits and songs and certainly away from the Scouting
spirit.  

 

Thanks for successfully muzzling the sprinklers!
