[Committee] Information for Merit Badge Counselors

Dear Crescent Bay District Merit Badge Counselor,

 For those of you who do not know me, I am the Scoutmaster of Troop
117 and
when I have too much time on my hands I do crazy things like helping
out
with District activities :). So not missing a beat, I have volunteered
to
organize a Merit Badge Day for Crescent Bay, something this District
has not
had in many years.
 I am sending this email out to all of you in hopes that we can get
some of
you to volunteer to serve as a counselor for the Merit Badge Day. We
are
planning the event to be on Saturday March 4 or March 10. I want to be
able
to offer a variety of merit badges both Eagle required and
non-required.
All Merit Badge subjects will be considered. The Day will be split
into two sessions (morning 9:00-12 and afternoon 1-4). Depending on
the merit badge, some may take only one session, some may take both
sessions and then there are some that may only take half a session.
Many may require the Scout to complete some requirements prior to the
Merit Badge Day. So if you are interested, please contact me so that
we may begin to put together a course
schedule of merit badges offered.

Also, I am still looking for a location to hold this event. A school
would
be ideal as it offers classrooms (desks, blackboard or whiteboard,
etc.) for
each Merit Badge. Any other similar location that has separate areas
for
teaching would work just as well. If anyone can help out in securing
a
location, please let me know too. Thanks.
