[Eagleprojects] Fwd: Eagle Project

Hello Everyone:

In going over Jon's rough outline for his project, I noticed several things that should be addressed. Rather than go into detail, it will probably be easier to simply list areas of concern.

    1. The scope of this project is quite large. It involves not only cosmetic but structural changes. As Amy mentioned, who is going to do the major demolition and construction work? It likely is not something untrained scouts can do. Not only is there a wall to put up but electrical work as well.

    2. The proposed cost of the project is between $10K and $20K. A $1,000 donation is a good beginning but...

    3. I may be wrong, but I believe a project like this one will require the supervision of a licensed general contractor as well as liability coverage. Has Jon given this any thought?

    4. Since Jon's primary job on an eagle project is to plan and supervise the work, he should probably revisit the manpower required and how he plans to use his people (the scouts).

Please understand, I think this is a worthwhile project, but, I am concerned that Jonathan may be biting off more than he bargained for and should probably take another look at it before final submission.

Take care,
Bruce
