Other scouts have used two weekends.  I don't object to the original location (either Carlson or Lindberg would be fine) and it looks like he is discussing what the scouts will do in about as much detail as possible at this point.  I think we should give him the go-ahead.

Erik-

Instead of by Vets Park how about Lindberg Park. As for what the scouts
would be doing: the first day they would put together the bags and flyer's
so they would be ready to pass out on the weekend hopefully the 9th. On the
ninth the scouts would meet at my house and i would tell them what we are
going to do. i would divide them into groups and tell the group leaders what
specific streets they were doing and give them the bags. they would place
the bags on the front porch of peoples houses and once they are done we will
meet back at my house for food. they following weekend, hopefully sat. 15th
i would pick out groups again and give them there streets and tell them to
pick up the bags of food on the front porch and take it to there vehicle.
after all the food has been collected we would go back to my house and
unload all off the food. i would tell them what the food bank will accept
and what they wont ie: glass jars, expired, ect. they will then sort through
all the food to weed out what we dont want. after the sorting is complete we
would have food. and during that week i would arrange to drop off all of
that food.

The area you plan to collect in has been used a lot recently by other
projects. Please consider using a different area of the city.

 

We would like to see more detail on exactly what the Scouts will be doing
