Hi,

I just got off the phone with Drake.  I told him that I strongly suggested that he complete more of the merit badges and leadership before he undertakes the project.  I explained the process - however, you may want to send him the links.  I explained that he must not schedule anything until all approvals are complete.  He wants to get things done before he gets to high school because he is concerned with the work load.  I told him to get those merit badges completed by the end of the summer and consider doing the project in the fall.  I did tell him that eagles who do these projects when they are slightly older get more out of them.  I explained that an eagle project is not only about doing the project but how you lead the project.  You should not be doing all of the work.  

I hope this sunk in.  His mom was not on the phone as I called his cell.  I offered to meet with him to discuss this or if he or his mom have any additional questions.
