Subject: [NNFATOSE] Camp Josepho Patrol Campout

Your Patrol is scheduled to camp at Camp Josepho for your Patrol campout on  
October 21st and 22nd. Please be aware that you will have to hike in from  
half-way down the hill. Vehicles can park at this location too. If you make  
prior arrangements with the Ranger, the Ranger or his son , JJ, may drive your  
vehicle into camp for you when you arrive with your gear and food from the OLD  
water tank parking area.
 
The swimming pool MAY still be open if it gets warm. IF you decide you  would 
like to do archery or shoot rifles, you must call now to arrange for  
Rangemasters. If you shoot, you MUST have a signed consent form, signed by your  
parent brought with you to camp.
 
Please contact Ranger Joe at 310-459-9093 for information and to make  
arrangements for activities.

 The Josepho Team will be conducting training while your Patrol is camping at Josepho. I have been asked to see if any of you would be willing to get lost and injured in camp so we can find you.

If you are interested, please let me know.

BTW, this is a surprise for the staff, so don't mention it to any Josepho staff.

To the NNFATOSEs attending this campout:

The upheaval at Camp Josepho is unlikely to have much impact on us.

We may have to carry everything from the water tank down to the campsite (1/4 mile, downhill), so bring backpacks rather than duffel bags, etc.

We plan to work on advancement on Sat before dinner, including the 5 mile hike with map & compass, so bring hiking shoes (always an essential) and a compass if you have one (you will eventually need one).  Gabe Reich is coming along with us, specifically to be a lifeguard, so, since the weather is good, bring a suit for the pool.  There are a few aquatic-type requirements that can be met at this time.  

Also, look in your book to see what requirements you can fulfill this weekend and bring whatever you might need to do so (for example, a knife).

Use the checklist in the book to pack.  (This is so obvious it is usually overlooked).

AND DON'T FORGET TO PACK YOUR BOOK!
