Please bring the following

Space Blanket (aka emergency blanket)--surplus store has them cheap. You
will need this
    for a long time anyway.
Whistle (cheap at surplus store)
Small personal first aid kit -- I will make sure we have a larger one with
us.
Compass
small flashlight or headlamp
lunch
light jacket
sunglasses
pocket knife
1 quart water--preferably in a Nalgene bottle. We will filter water on the
trail.
sunscreen
hat
small day pack to fit all of the above into
bandana--optional but very useful

Wear good hiking boots if you have them. The trail is rocky. Otherwise,
the best you can do. The class B shirt is also fine, but it will be cool up
there. Be prepared for that. The high at the top of the tram has been around
70 degrees each day. Part of the ascent is in direct sun, but it can also
be somewhat chilly and breezy on top. Wear long pants. If you have the
zip-off nylon pants, those are great. If you think you will be too hot in jeans,
then wear shorts, but be prepared to possibly have cold legs.

Please have all the gear above. Generally, these are part of the
ten-essentials kit.

Call me if you have any questions, or send me an e-mail.
