[Philmont2007] Personal gear list - sending again

At the last meeting there was a request for a recap of the Personal Gear list that Carolyn provided at the 9/27/06 meeting. I have taken the Philmont Personal gear list (from the 2007 Philmont booklet that each of you should have) and have edited it based on my handwritten notes from the September meeting. This list is intended for anyone that may not have been present at the early planning meetings and that still needs to purchase items before tomorrow's pack weigh-in.
Please note that this list if for Personal Gear, do not confuse it with the list of Group Gear sent by Carolyn a few days ago. The list excludes tents - I'm not sure if we are considering these as personal or group gear. Likewise, it does not include water filters (I believe that everyone should have been issued one by now) or stoves...

Personal Equipment Basic list Packing
Pack (lightweight 3 to 5 lbs) with padded hip belt, either:
External frame, with a capacity of 4,000 cubic inches, or
Internal frame, with a capacity of 4,800 cubic inches
Pack cover (waterproof nylon) REI
Sleeping
Sleeping bag (lightweight 3 to 5 lbs e.g. Cats Eye at REI)
stuff sack
Straps to hold sleeping bag on pack REI or Big 5
Foam sleeping pad (closed-cell or Therm-a-Rest) REI
Clothing Hiking Clothes
Hiking boots (well broken in and waterproofed)
Three pair of heavy socks SmartWool at REI dries quickly, odorless
Three pair of lighter inner socks (polypro) (OPTIONAL)
Three changes of underwear
Two pair of zip-off nylon hiking pants REI Sahara pant
Two short-sleeve shirts (REI brand synthetic hiking shirts)
One long-sleeve shirt (nylon at REI)
One hat or cap (flexible, with brim)
Evening
Sleep clothes to be worn only in sleeping bag (T-shirt and gym shorts)
One pair of insulated underwear (polypro) (OPTIONAL)
Lightweight sneakers or tennis shoes (OPTIONAL)
Cold and Rain
One sweater or jacket (polar fleece) REI brand (use as a pillow)
One stocking cap (wool or polypro)
One pair of glove liners (wool or polypro)
One sturdy rain suit (Sierra Designs jacket at REI lightweight & breathable not vinyl pants optional) (A)
Eating
Deep bowl (small, plastic) REI fold-a-bowl or plastic
Cup (measuring style) REI
Spoon, fork and knife - plastic
Two Nalgene 1-quart (32 oz.) water bottles (BB, A)
Water bladder (OPTIONAL but useful) BIG 5 is cheapest
Personal and Miscellaneous
Small pocketknife and Toting chip (A)
Flashlight (small with extra batteries and bulb)
Bandana (BB)
Lip balm (at least SPF 25) such as ChapStick or Carmex (BB, A)
Soap (biodegradable) (BB, S)
Toothbrush and toothpaste (BB)
Small towel
Sunglasses (inexpensive)
